A crisp white-painted staircase – white risers, white spindles, white skirt – fitted with individual carpet treads in a beige diamond-lattice pattern.
Tread-only installs like this keep the painted staircase visible while putting carpet exactly where feet land. Each piece was cut to its tread, the lattice pattern centred consistently from step to step, and secured firmly so nothing shifts underfoot – loose tread mats are a hazard, properly fastened tread carpet is the opposite.
