A textured grey runner fitted down an oak staircase in a two-storey foyer, leaving the stained hardwood borders exposed on both sides. The staircase flares at the base, so the runner had to widen and wrap cleanly around the curved bottom steps – the hardest part of any runner install and the first place a rushed job shows.
The runner is secured tight at every nosing with the hardwood edges left proudly visible, giving the entryway the warmth of carpet underfoot without giving up the wood the foyer was built around.
